A quick welcome to the new members that have registered here in the last few days, no doubt you've seen the request for help on the various news sites. We need someone to enter a list of dependancies into a webform, so we can se where we are, we need some one to test the current csh port and if it cant cope with the scripts the OO.org uses, to advance the port to v6. So please step forward and offer your assistance.
Regards
Mark

My experience with csh:
It runs well under OS4, I have not found any problems with csh and Linux scripts (tested with Kaffe, Cacao and GMP). However, there is a fundamental crashing problem with the current beta system that has not been resolved and this makes it impossible to complete a build of any complexity. Sooner or later the script will crash and it appears as a csh crash (but isn't).
I am hoping the developers will be able to find and fix this problem soon. Until this problem is fixed, I cannot proceed with building any of the above packages. I do not have a Linux system for cross-compiling and don't want to go down that road anyway.
BTW, welcome to our new members. Who are they?
cheers
Tony,
So the v5 OS4 native port we have is ok? and doesnt need expanding at all? ok good, another dependancy to cross off of the list then.
Regards
Mark

Is there anyone we can lean on? any help we can provide to get it fixed? We obviously cant progress if we cant get the Java dependency finished.

Heh, I'll let them introduce themselves ;-)

Hmm...
What exactly are you referring to ? The 744x L2 cache prefetch problem ?

Hi Mark,
I'm not exactly new here, but when provided with the data I'll be able to find some time to enter the dependencies.
Kind regards,
Rincewynd / Peter

Well the dependencies themselves I suppose? I'm not quite a programmer, so I doubt I can deduct that myself. Unless such data is readily available. Haven't checked the Open Office site yet for that, will have a look when I'm home from work.

Peter,
Well unfortunately, we need someone to step forward and produce the list (of dependancies), then we can pass if over to someone to enter into the tree (you).

Mark

Yes, but not without some serious filtering. Also, many of the things listed there have separate dependencies.
So there are both internal and external dependencies, we want a database of both classes.
If you think you can help, just start filling in the form at http://oeh.network-electronics.com/~olegil/dependencies/
