After installing gcc-3.4.0 and configuring it to use clib2
(with a severely kludged specs file), I have now tried to
compile every source file in the tcsh source distribution
as a quick way to determine the feasibility of porting it.
I am happy to write that with a few exception it seems the
tcsh source is _relatively_ portable. The main areas which seem
to need a bit of work are the following:
* termios
* missing signals
* resource limits
* multi-user support
* fork()/vfork()
Of these, only the missing signals and fork()/vfork() appears to
pose any significant problem and as a positive side-effect, we might
contribute further to the development of clib2 (just an idea).
The ixemul-compiled tcsh binary is extremely unstable on my machine
and crashes randomly, usually in less than 15 seconds. It does, however,
appear to handle csh scripts - which the older csh implementation did
not (it only handled a subset).
Unfortunately, this still does not indicate if it would be easier to
write our own intepreter or not.

Hello
I have BIG trouble with my library for libusb and I cant find any error in the source code :(
So if there is a library guru in here thats want to help me track down my error(s)..
I can compile the barebone library with no problem but I cant open the library without the
system freezing, and the openlib program never returns.
I looks like it hangs in the library init function.
I have striped all the function to track down the nasty error
HELP PLEASE
The source files can be found here: http://www.rwo.dk/libusb.lha

I think it's time we raised the profile of this project.
Banner advertising is currently low on Amigaworld.net so I am willing to give the Amiga Openoffice.org project a free Banner slot on the site while advertising is low, so be quick and take this opportunity for free advertising to raise Amiga Openoffice.org's profile.
So, did we decide on a slogan and banner?

I'm catching up after return from holidays and I see it's vewwy, vewwy quiet
here. Is there a regular IRC on Thurs nights as before? I called in last
week but was alone.
I'm hoping to finish my OS4 development task in the next couple of weeks (or
at least get it off the front burner), so then I can start looking at
BerkeleyDB and Kaffe.
cheers

Hi,
I have a suggestion for consideration regarding scanning/sane etc. The
current OpenOffice includeds a TWAIN header file (obviously for
windows/Mac that have twain scanners), would it make more sense for us
to add an interface to betascan/scanfx/scanquix and then port over
betscan (and upgrade to use the libusb port that is being worked on)
that way we get a gui included, both betascan and scanfx use sane
drivers so those would need recompiiling as well (and to include the USB
functionality).
This may also help promote sale sof things like scanfx which includes
extra finctionality?
Comments?
