Could I ask everyone currently undertaking a task to provide an update. Even if its as small as no progress as yet.
I ask so that I can keep on top of progress and re-assign work if necessary (ie something critical stalls for some reason), I fully understand that none of you have very much time, but would appreciate a couple of lines of update regularily, especially if you are struggling with something/you have issues that need resolving.
Regards
Mark
I'm basically there to see how OS 3.9 compatible the project is (or can be)...however...when I updated my emulator 3.9 failed to start...I reverted to the prior version and OS 3.9 is still not starting. i'll be reinstalling the whole system from scratch today see what happens then.
Also on that list, if people could tell me what part of the project could/should be backwards compatible. I don't have an amiga one to work on the OS 4.0 port of the project or I would ;-)....or if someone hacked everything for OS 4.0 to work on WinUAE...clue me in :-).

I got neon to compile but get a few missing symbols when linking. The problem is AmiSSL, or rather, the fact that neon uses OpenSSL function as function pointer arguments...
No biggie, I am just going to write a few inline functions for it (there is maybe five or so functions affected). I will see that I can work on it some more later today.

I traced the problem with automake/autoconf recusrive building to a problem in make... working on that...

As to Java dependence: I have determined what needs Java and how it is called. I have made a short list of compilers and JVMs and I have a database that contains stats for all the candidates.
One candidate, cacao, has already been ported to OS4 by one of the OS4 devs. I have spoken to him about it and I am hoping that we could use his port with little extra work. Not resolved yet. I still have not ascertained how well it meets the requirements (how closely it resembles the JDK). Unless it behaves the same way at execution time, it's not going to help us. The same goes for the other candidates.
cheers

Nas:
With a few addiditons to clib2 parts of nas compiles, but much of the code depends on implementation details (e.g. the layout of fd_set).
The extent of the X11 dependancy is not fully examined yet.
The build-system might work better now with a more advanced abc-shell and tools.
At a glance, however, it appears the Win32 version might be the easiest to use as a base for porting since this makes fewer assumptions about the implementation of things.
Progress lately: not much of, but not forgotten
