For some of us the event started already on Friday, I came to Gothenburg on Wednesday to meet Mattias and some of the other AcgGBG/AmiGBG people. On the Friday, a fairly good bunch of people met up to set up tables and bring in all the equipment. Me and Mattias had made an appointment to have dinner with the Friedens, and suddenly we were 15 people at the restaurant. Noone seemed to know just how that happened :-P

On the Saturday, the day started early (I went to bed a bit after 1am, and was up a bit before 5am), we brought in the rest of the equipment for the Safir (swedish community site) table, which was next to the AmigaRulez/OpenOffice.org table. A good bunch of bad things happened all around the place, but somehow most people (Compusphere being the only exception, due to an accident with the front window in their car) were ready for the opening of the doors at 11am. Already at a quarter to 12, Captain Moo Moo and his beautiful wife passed my table and I said hi. I gave him a flyer and he said "oh, I was looking for them. Know who I should speak to", and I pointed to my badge. "Oh, so you ARE the man", he said :-P

Captain Moo Moo, for those who don't know, is teaching at a college somewhere in the UK, and he has purchased an AmigaOne for his class. He's looking for projects, and we're kinda looking for programmers here, so it kinda goes together nicely :-P

We then managed to have a short meeting with Captain Moo Moo, Joppe from AmigaRulez ( who is also a teacher in C, but on a university in Sweden), Hans-Jörg, Thomas, Henning, Rene, Ben Hermans and myself attending. The two teachers introduced themselves and spoke a bit about how they were thinking of teaching C the next year, Henning, Rene and myself tried to explain a bit about how the OpenOffice project is not only about OpenOffice itself, but that it has a lot of dependencies which are (almost?) equally important. The Friedens clarified a few points here and there, and spoke a bit about coding for OS4 in general. Ben Hermans was eating chicken and drinking beer :-P (no, seriously, he contributed, but he was after all the only person who don't do C for a living there, except possibly Captain Moo Moo's wife :-) )

Then we attended a short presentation about IBMs roadmap and some more in-depth stuff about Cell, I passed out a bit more flyers, and then suddenly the clock had reached 5PM. We packed up everything and proceeded to get well and truly drunk. I nearly got there, but the dinner at the banquet was mexican, and I ate so much I could no longer swallow beer afterwards. A bit of a bummer, you could say.

Sunday, some of us met up at Liseberg to play some classic (and some new) pinball machines, some had beer/cider/wine (ok, ok. I admit it. It was me). After some hours we proceeded to a pub where we had a dinner, then me and Mattias went home so I don't know if anything else happened.

Today I've basically been travelling, and now I'm at work to fetch my laptop and send this detailed report to you :-P

PS: I have some ideas for some things that would help bring in more programmers. I'll send an extra email some time tonight or tomorrow morning. It involves work on my part, mostly. If you all will help me just a little bit :-P

It could have become much less if we had really started that Karaoke thing :-)

I nearly got there, but the dinner at the banquet was mexican, and I ate so much I could no longer swallow beer afterwards. A bit of a bummer, you could say.

Too bad that chicken stuff was gone so fast.

And "old-evil" even had a whole dead animal sitting on his plate... Of course, the stupid lobster was staring with it's dead eyes in my direction all the time :S

And there is that. I hope you made notes, cause I won't be repeating them. Unfortunately I might end up adding to the list, but that's just the way I am. Thinking before you talk is like wiping your ass and THEN going to the toilet, right? :-P
