Paul, how stable was this port? Could this be used by other people already? If so, let me know so it can be submitted to os4depot.
Just some slight modifications are still needed to the code/build to clear up some problems for a standalone version:
* nroff mode issues * Stack related issue (suggest stack cookie (as suggested) for OS4). * Currently uses unix paths. This could be a problem when
compiling for <= OS3.9
nroff? I've heard of groff, but never of nroff, what's it do?
Now that we have Perl on OS4 I think the build can be converted not to used to bodged files I constructed with Perl using my Linux box, but instead build them dynamically during the compile process.
That would be better yes
To get this usable for people (OS4 Depot) an installer will need to be written to install the program and associated dictionary files as it can be a pain to install. All dictionary files need to be "constructed" using the "prezip" file (that is built during the standard make process), the main aspell program and the source dictionary files.
I'll post some better documentation on the whole build process sometime (shortly I hope). Also, unless anyone else is going to do it I'll modify the source to deal with the issues above.
I could knock together an installer if needed, assuming that the installer on OS4 is compatable with the one from CBM (same syntax)
