Agreed, this was actually the original idea, except we started/tried to start with things that could be usefull to other projects (lubusb/sane in itself is in my opinion a worthy project, as it would provide OS4 with scanner support for hundreds of scanners), but maybe we should review these desissions.
It's definitely worth it, but it shouldn't keep others from working on the core parts already :)

Well, it builds with newlib, not clib2. With clib2, a 68k port would be possible without modification... with newlib, it's not that easy...
Speaking of ports necessary for the work on OOo, I've got most of coreutils ported as well :)
