All, Its that time again, can people give me an update as to how far they have progressed with their tasks please? Hans-Joerg, if neon is completed and tested (uploading and downloading) could you take a look at the csh stuff on http://dev.amigaopenoffice.org and assess whether its enough for our needs here, or whether it needs upgrading to v6 or not. Where do I upload?

Hi. I have ported neon-0.26 now and want to upload it somewhere, can you point me to a place where I can put it? Note that it is largely untested. The test cases in the archive all use fork() (yuck) and hence where unsuable. I found a few neon-examples, but they where using an older version of the API and didn't compile out of the box, so I had to do some modifications... retrieving a file from a webdav server worked, though. Could I ask everyone currently undertaking a task to provide an update. Even if its as small as no progress as yet. I ask so that I can keep on top of progress and re-assign work if necessary (ie something critical stalls for some reason), I fully understand that none of you have very much time, but would appreciate a couple of lines of update regularily, especially if you are struggling with something/you have issues that need resolving. One important thing to be sure of, before we start with the different libraries... what c-library should we use? At the moment... clib2 is the c-library with the most functions, but as it is a static library and OpenOffice.org is huge, would this not be a good idea... newlib does have less functions at the moment, but it is shared, and is more optimized... so it would need more work, but will give us a more Amiga-like and a faster application. Hi, regarding these two, I think that the problem (the infinite loop) is due to abc-shell's handling of subshells (i.e. commands in round brackets). All hail, Well done that HNL for getting an updated version of Amiga Bourne Shell onto OS4Depot today :) Incidentally, I've got a working A1 again (G3XE), so testing will be possible. I am not able to post on our (abc-shell) own mailinglist at the momment, so I am going to post it here, as it should be usefull for us (AmigaOpenOffice.org) too... I have updated abc-shell: merged ssoile's changes into the CVS... Updated the sources with the newest changes from Debian and OpenBSD pdksh... did add SDK:/Local/C to the default path... have made some tests, and it was working quite good with the small scripts that I did test :-) Am going to make a new update soon... -- best regards, hnl_dk - Henning Nielsen Lund

Feeble attempt at dependency database, beta 1

I've been dilly-dallying in emacs today, browse around the first half of a really simple dependency database here: http://oeh.network-electronics.com/~olegil/dependencies/index.php Adding/changing people, projects and dependencies work Deleting isn't implemented on anything yet. Adding roles (connecting people to projects), listing/searching the database is still on the todo, and I'll be adding a simple "latest additions" to the front page. It's supposed to be using CSS for all pages, the menu is going to be sitting on the left if you have CSS, top if you don't. I absolutely will not design without CSS any more ;-) The CSS that actually places the menu and body divs next to each other is missing, though. I have to look it up :-P To log in, use the username aooo. The password is tricky. (let's see who figures THAT one out :-P ) -- We'll pedal off that bridge when we get there.

Ok, can everyone give me some feedback on what they're working atm? I noticed* *Rene W. Olsen is working on SANE, did you manage to resolve those issue's you mentioned earlier? Did you ever get an awnser about that parrallel device? What's the status of libusb? Is Aspell fully debugged?

Hello, I have been doing some coding on SANE now that my Python project was mindless... I have almost got all the MainFunction compiled there is just two files that dont work... the first is a file with SCSI support commands in it, I have just skip it as I have no SCSI to test it with. The second is Thread support and a more serious problem. They have been so nice to make two versions one with fork() and one with PThread.. When I try to compile the file it complains about some sigaction structure/function. Well, I've now some free time (unless They find something else for me to do), so I can do some more work on OOo at last. What has highest priority? Is there anything specific, or should I have a go at getting Kaffe working under OS4? [I have this dream of getting Kaffe to create a cache of already-jitted methods, to avoid the translation time whenever a method is reloaded. It could go well with Amiga shared libraries, as long as I can avoid the GPL virus.] cheers
