Thoughts please on this new logo http://amigaworld.net/tmp/amiopenofficelogo.png I dropped the .org as it would look silly on a site that doesn't use openoffice.org as its domain. The name is easily changed should we decide on a project name. Regards David Doyle (DaveyD) Owner/Webmaster Amigaworld.net

I'm no native english speaker, so pardon me if you start laughing now, but isn't "suit" in this case supposed to be written "suite"? Regards, -- Hans-Joerg Frieden, Hans-JoergF@hyperion-entertainment.biz - I-amar prestar aen / han mathon ne nen han mathon ne chae / a han noston ned 'wilith

Hi Hans-Joerg That was a deliberate mistake to see who would be the first to spot it ;-) Ignoring the deliberate mistake what do you actually think of the logo? Looks nice to me. However, I think we should avoid commiting to an official logo. All projects I know that failed (aMozilla, aGTK, former OpenOffice ports) commited to an official logo and failed ;-) Regards, -- Hans-Joerg Frieden, Hans-JoergF@hyperion-entertainment.biz - I-amar prestar aen / han mathon ne nen han mathon ne chae / a han noston ned 'wilith
I really like it...good visual representation of an office suite with a definite Amiga twist to it :-)...no less than brilliant to me :-) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Hans-Joerg Frieden" <Hans-JoergF@hyperion-entertainment.biz> To: <openoffice-os4@samfundet.no> Sent: Saturday, January 08, 2005 5:56 PM Subject: Re: [OO.org-OS4] New Logo, please check it out

Thanks stephane Once we all agree on the name I will begin to construct a project/user website and incorporate the logo, feature wise the site will probably be similar to the openoffice.org website. Very late night still not awake properly ;-) So http://www.amigaopenoffice.org/ will be the official homepage of this project I assume? Regards Mick -- <tsb>Mick Sutton <tsb>Chairman of SEAL <tsb>South Essex Amiga Link <tsb>http://www.seal-amiga.co.uk <tsb>Using AmigaOne-XE G4 & Amiga OS4

I dropped the .org as it would look silly on a site that doesn't use openoffice.org as its domain. The name is easily changed should we decide on a project name.
I really don't like not using the original name for it. There's a LOT one can do with a logo without a name-change. Another idea for name would be to use a different name for the PROJECT only. Say, "Project Amiga Office" or something like that. Our PRODUCT will be OpenOffice.org for AmigaOS, our NAME doesn't have to be the same. Possibly. Ole-Egil, who now wants a beer. -- We'll double-cross that bridge when we get there.

Love the logo, don't like the name. "AmiXXXX" sounds too twee for my tastes, and I hate the ".org" suffix. I'll add to the Name discussion in that thread. cheers tony
