I've seen a lot of talk about Sourceforge.net - but I find myself wondering if OO.org have their own CVS (etcetera) servers that we could use?
BTW, I'm not a developer or project manager or anything - just an interested observer who'll stick his oar in every so often ;-)

What about http://savannah.gnu.org/ another project hosting place?

Looking at http://porting.openoffice.org/ ... there is two places that does say that we need to contact them for making a new port. The first one is Sander Vesik - sander.vesik@ireland.sun.com The other one - dev@porting.openoffice.org

Hmm, that's bad. Ok, then the next place to try is Sander Vesik, if that doesn't give response within 24 hours, we need to subscribe a bunch of people to various OO.org lists and get the info through there. (not that I'm taking charge or anything, though :-) )

I think we should retry that avenue again once we have installed our glorious dictator. It could have been a mistake.
Looking at a worse case scenario, what happens if we can't and official help / recognition of the project. (Side note, the negative response wouldn't have anything to do with previous Amiga "efforts" would it?) Are there any *successful* projects that have taken place outside of Openoffice.org community that we could turn to?

Erm, no, it was a mailinglist :p But first things first, we need a tiran, err, dictator, err no, a head honcho!

Yes, we shouldn't go putting the carriage before the horse. We could very easily screw things up.

I've said this before today, all communications with OOo should be on hold untill after the vote.
I don't want to sound bossy, but if several people start asking the OOo guys the same questions over & over they'll get the impression we aren't organised (wich we aren't yet)

FWIW, registering on the openoffice.org website means you can join things like a porting project ;) (only 396 emails to go on this list - don't you lot ever sleep?)
