Ok, can everyone give me some feedback on what they're working atm?
I noticed* *Rene W. Olsen is working on SANE, did you manage to resolve those issue's you mentioned earlier? Did you ever get an awnser about that parrallel device?
What's the status of libusb? Is Aspell fully debugged?
well...I don't have a function yet...not until any code is released so I can check for backwards compatibility with OS 3.9 I'm a PR dude until then ;-).

Libusb is only missing some release of resources when its flushed and real test examples thats where SANE comes ind to the picture. I have compiled all the main functions of SANE, now comes all the drivers/backends. Also to get Parallel support in SANE, I have startet to look into libieee1284. For now I have setup a dummy library with all the functions thats for now only returns Error. That has the advantice that I only have to update the ieee1284 library later on and I dont have to recompile SANE.
Thats more or less what I'm working right now.
HNL_dk and I was supoest to be working together on SANE but he out of the picture right now becorse of him move home. Hope to se him soon but I really dont know when hes back online

I've had a look at BerkeleyDB, gmp and Kaffe. To build on A1/OS4, all depend on a working shell and several utilities (like grep, sed, etc). The shell distributed with the latest SDK does not fit this need yet.
I know a small group is working on ABC-Shell. I've offered help to Henning but received no reply. I didn't want to distract Thomas.
Meantime I'm porting the LinRadio to OS4 with (hopefully) a nice Reaction GUI.
cheers

You mean http://www.broad.ology.org.uk/amiga/archives/, this type of ABC-Shell?
I don't know how it works or what it should do (no coder myself) :-( but you could ask Andy Broad andy@broad.ology.org.uk, the author, if there's something coming along with it. I don't even know it this is the OS3.x version. When running it under OS4, i get:
sh: j_ttyinit: can't set close-on-exec flag: Function not implemented #
Ciao

I believe he is moving house, so you probably won't get one for a while...
Well, been way to busy with RL work to be useful in the fields of PR and testing. On the bright side I've been studying K&R during my business trips abroad (nights in Hotels can be very boring). I'm nowhere near a skill-level at which I could consider a programming task in this project (yet) alas.
Questions for you Amon_re: I recall that there was some interest from several parties in doing an article about the project. Any news on that?

Due to a lot of RL work and a broken graphics card in the A1 (will finally replace it this week or next) work has been extremely slow.
Som parts of NAS are mostly compilable now except for dependencies on X11 and several places where they rely on c-library implementation details (e.g. poking directly into a fd_set) which should be fixed even if they might accidentally work.
The core audio code is still now written (must be rewritten for each platform-type).

Looks like i've finally managed to get through my backlog of mails & work, and it looks like the hell of the past months here is over, so i'm back guys, for atleast 3 months.
I know i missed captainmoomoo's deadline, and i'm very, VERY sorry for that, alas, i couldn't be helped.
As for the dependency database, if someone can give me access to it i will start filling it in, and move it over to the site.
DaveP, if you're reading, please contact me relating user & password data to access said server (aswell as the amigadev. one)
I will also be reachable over ICQ & MSN, will post my data once gaim finishes compiling.
Well, gonna read the rest of the OOo backlog of mails & will post again.
Hi'
I am alive too... but I have only little time :-(
We have a lot of problems with the house that we have bought: The man from whom we have bought the house, has not told the truth, about important parts of the house... In about two month, We have not had a fully working sewer... Our oil-fired boiler is not working - and it is beginning to get cold in Denmark... and so on :-( So I do not have much time, to use in front of the computer, at the moment (but I have now got an internet connetion).
Hope that I will soon get some more time...
Best regards, hnl_dk - Henning Nielsen Lund

I could send you a rioter or two to set fire to it and keep you nice and warm...
I'll get my coat
